Car Shows: How To Make Your Custom Hot Rod Stand Out

By LJ Crowe

As you can image, there will be tens if not hundreds of other cars present, so you need to ensure that your car puts forth the best impression possible in order to stand above and beyond the competition.
Your first step should always be cleaning the outside of the car. Do not forget about cleaning the wheel wells, tires, door handles, window seals, license plate and all other places that can get dirty. Even if it looks clean, clean it again just to ensure that it looks good.

If the hot rod is stowed on a trailer, be sure you replace the car cover on the car before you go to the show. Sounds like a no-brainer huh? It happens more than you think. Of course give a good wipe down to the pedals, door handles, window handles, and upholstery. If the upholstery can be cleaned sufficiently using a vacuum, carry along a small handy vacuum to give it a quick once over before the show.

You should always ensure you bring the supplies to clean the tires while you are there, rather than just cleaning the tires before the show. Road grime from lots and dust kicked up from attendees can really smudge up a slick looking wheel or tire. The main thing to remember: always ensure that at least the sides of the tires are perfectly clean and there is no dirt or debris.

Your final steps should be ensuring that the car is waxed and polished before the show.
Overall, your custom hot rod should always give off a street rod powerful, clean and stately impression at the car shows.
Putting forth a little extra effort and maintain attention to details in these areas, is the best way to ensure that your custom hot rod stands out.
